Where are you located?
We are located at 901 Houndslake Drive, on the beautiful South side of Aiken, South Carolina, just 17 miles east of Augusta, GA, and 56 miles west of Columbia, South Carolina.
What's the weather like?
Aiken has a mostly mild four-season climate with rare to no snow accumulation. The spring and fall seasons last for several months each, making for spectacular weather.
What is the town like?
There is a surprising level of sophistication and cosmopolitan flair in the streets of downtown Aiken, where people leisurely walk through the most charming of shopping districts. It has a mix of antique and gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, and cafes.
Aside from the downtown area, Aiken is known for its quality sporting venues and equestrian tradition. Its tree canopied streets are inviting to any type of meeting group.
Aiken is also rich with art and culture, from private galleries and center for the performing arts to our very own University of South Carolina Aiken.
Frequented by the likes of Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Aiken is a town that remains in your heart when you leave, and a place you'll return as often as you can.
What kind of doctors and healthcare can I expect?
Aiken is equipped with the large, newly renovated Aiken Regional Medical Center, which has attracted a highly advanced Board Certified medical staff. Also within 25 minutes is the Augusta, Georgia Medical complexes which include University Hospital, Medical College of Georgia, Doctors' Hospital, VA hospital, and Walton Rehabilitation Hospital.
Can non-members dine in the Sarazen Room?
Although the Sarazen Room is exclusive to members of Houndslake's private country club, it is available for your a' la carte dining pleasure when attending a meeting, conference, or banquet in our meeting facilities or staying in our Guest House. Executive Chef Don Gangway and Chef Donnie Gangway change the lunch menu seasonally and dinner menu weekly.
Does Houndslake have a dress code?
Yes, there are no blue jeans or denim material of any kind permitted at the Club.
Is there a rental fee for the function rooms?
No, there is only a minimum food and beverage requirement for our different meeting rooms. If the Food and Beverage minimum is not met, then a room rental fee will apply.
What is the room rate at your guest house?
If you go through the Club for your reservations the rate is discounted. Rates may be found at www.HoundslakeGuestHouse.com.
Do you provide any Audio Visual equipment?
A screen is provided and the rental of an LCD Projector is $150.
Can we use outside Audio Visual vendors?
Yes, should Houndslake's equipment not meet your needs, you are welcome to bring a vendor in from the outside.
Is there a meeting professional on staff at Houndslake?
Yes, our banquest manager handles meetings, conferences, and banquets at the Club for both local and out-of-town groups. Please direct any additional questions to pjennings@houndslakecc.com where we will be more than happy to assist you with your every need.
